9/30
Twelve hours of sleep left us ready for another big day. We went to a village called Pievesciata in the Chianti area that has made a town project of contemporary art and there are a variety of sculptures scattered through the town.

But the highlight is the Parco Scultura del Chianti, a sculpture park that was created by inviting artists from all over the world to create sculptures that were integrated into the landscape. The artists came and surveyed the sites and picked the one that they wanted then created sculptures that utilized the settings. It was really interesting and exceptionally well done. We had an audio visual guide that explained all the sculptures. Here's a link for better photos and more pics: https://www.chianti.com/what-to-do-in-chianti/visit-chianti-sculpture-park.html

The sculptures are scattered along a path about a km long and the setting is a very pretty forested area. We were told that National Geographic selected it as one of the top sculpture gardens in the world.
All that artsiness and outdoorsiness left us hungry so we went to yet another tiny, non descript restaurant in a nearby small village. Dick had pici again but this time with a veal sauce and I had grilled veal steak with rosemary. Both really delicious. The house wine was another quite drinkable red...1/2 liter for 3.50 Euros. We can't help but be amazed by the wine prices.
After that nice relaxing lunch, I again tried to do Dick in by taking him to a castle (Castello Broglio) in another small town that we were told was one of the finest castles in Tuscany. Yes, a really nice castle and do you know where they put castles??? They put them on the top of hills and this particular castle required parking at the bottom of the hill resulting in a VERY long and VERY uphill walk on our oh so full stomachs.

| Look how happy he is! At least he's on the TOP of the hill now. |
Really great views from the castle and coming down was a lot easier than going up.
That was enough for one day and we came home for me to deal with a variety of tech issues involving the new Sim card, no internet, no phone connection all of which resulted in a lot of frustration.
